While it may look intimidating to replace your car's hood yourself, most hood replacements are pretty straightforward. To replace a car hood, you'll simply need to open the hood, prop it up, unscrew the bolts to remove the hood from the hinges, and get a friend or another person to help you lift the hood of of your car. Some people may be able to take the hood off themselves, but it's typically easier to remove the hood with another person since both of you can grasp the hood on each side, making sure it's stable when you pull it apart from the car and can lift it to place it carefully out of the way.
